📽️ Picture this: It's the eleventh hour. I have 20 minutes left to knock out all the personal goals I left unattended in my day. I'm at the sink, simultaneously brushing my teeth, Duolingo-ing, and promising myself I WILL get up, dammit, in time to work out in the morning. I count down the hours. Okay, 7 until then -- not bad. I make the bed right before I get in it and consider that a check on the "make your bed” box. I fall asleep with Duolingo and my mouth open.

I doubted it for years but now, almost three months deep into new (and sustainable!) habits like being social media free (there's Later.com to thank for this post), I can affirm: daily habits really do make a difference. ⁠
⁠
🗣️ Is there anything you've implemented recently that has made a difference in the quality of your life? An old friend and peer mentor once told me: "If you've got something good and you keep it to yourself, you're an asshole", and I don't disagree. What daily something -- professional or personal -- has made your life a little sweeter? ⁠

🗒️ Real talk, though, I've been using Notion for habit-tracking on the go in addition to ROOTED, and I freakin' love it. Thank you to @foreverreflecting for the introduction to Notion!

🖐️ It's been a darn minute since we were here on the 'Gram, and if we're being honest (which we are, naturally), the time away has been a welcome reprieve.⁠
⁠
It has given me, Raleigh, time to clarify personal and professional goals, assess where they're intertwined, and create the kind of lifestyle that honors and contributes to these goals daily, something sustainable and authentic to me.⁠
⁠
Being so digitally tethered on the daily, doing what I was doing before, wasn't and isn't sustainable for me. The perks of social media are innumerable. The wide berth and accessibility of knowledge is insane. It's undeniably powerful tool with the potential to make a huge impact. ⁠
⁠
You know what's also true? Professionally and personally, it's my least favorite tool for connecting, creating, sharing, and educating. And that's okay. ⁠
⁠
🎟️ If you've been feeling tension somewhere in your life and are for permission to...⁠
⁠
- approach something differently than it’s done before⁠
- make a pivot and lean into what inspires and excites and motivates you, even if it's not popular⁠
- experiment and try new things to find an approach that works for you, not against you⁠
- step back, slow down, and trust yourself ⁠
⁠
this is it. ⁠
⁠
We have the authority to decide what works best for us, and as long as we're making decisions that align with our most authentic Self, we're making all the right moves, even if they don't always make sense to others. ⁠
